The race for promotion to the Premier League is starting to hot up. With 11 games to go the top 8 are separated by just 9 points. I take a look at the remaining fixtures for these 8 teams and calculate who has the toughest run in.
This past weekend saw the first ever Rugby League World Club Series. This is an expansion on the World Club Challenge which took place in previous years. The new series pits the top 3 teams from the Super League and the NRL against each other in 3 games. So, how successful was this new idea? And can it have success in the future?
Saturday 24th January. A day that will live long in the memory of Middlesbrough supporters far and wide. A day that the lucky 5,505 (including myself) who got tickets will never forget. A day that Boro beat the Premier League champions in their own back yard. (more…)
Last night saw the 2014 Sports Personality of the Year presentation and I can’t help thinking that the show and the award has become a farce. The bizarre booking of Simple Minds to open the show, the sheer tediousness of the entire event, the ridiculous shortlist of candidates and the public choosing the wrong winner. Is it time for SPOTY to change the format of the show?
The NBA season is almost upon us. This means that it’s the perfect time for me to announce to the world my NBA bets for this year. This follows on from my NFL picks post, which I think we can all agree is going superbly (I’m hopeful that the Bills will fall apart). I’ll pick each division winner and go through a few other bets, including some more excellent over/under opportunities.
For the first time, I’ve decided to put some pre-season NFL bets on. I’ve bet on each of the division winners and also thrown in a few over/under picks. I’ve listened to American podcasts, I’ve researched the schedule, I’ve made win estimates for each team, I’ve really immersed myself in the NFL world. Which is nice, but ultimately I’ll probably still lose my money. Because gambling is for mugs (I’m a mug).
